2013 Mazda CX-5 is Motorweek’s Best Small Utility

The latest arrival to the Zoom-Zoom family and the first to fully incorporate the full suite of SKYACTIV® technologies, the all-new 2013 CX-5 has earned Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) its 16th overall Drivers’ Choice Award, as announced by MotorWeek at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show.

Expected to go on sale in early Spring 2012, the compact crossover SUV offers the best highway fuel economy of any SUV sold in North America at 35 miles per gallon (mpg) and features class-leading overall fuel economy performance versus its direct competitors.

Mazda Teams Up with Velocity

Mazda has supported more road racers over the past decade than any other automaker, and for 2012 is stepping up that support to include extended TV coverage on the new Velocity network.

Mazda CX-5 and the New Skyactiv-D

Mazda Motor Corporation has commenced production of the all-new Mazda CX-5 with its new-generation SKYACTIV-D 2.2-litre, super clean diesel engine at its Ujina Plant near Mazda’s headquarters in Hiroshima.

The CX-5 will be the first model of the company’s new-generation products that adopts SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY throughout the vehicle, in the powertrain, body and chassis, while fully embracing Mazda’s new design theme, “KODO – Soul of Motion.” Mazda will start introducing the Mazda CX-5 this spring.
