Mazda will soon introduce an aggressive, sporty compact crossover. And, while its aggressive lines with convey a macho attitude, Mazda says it will be powered by an ultra fuel-efficient powertrain.
At the New York Auto Show, Mazda is showing the Minagi, a concept vehicle that is expected to be the inspiration for the upcoming CX-5. It features the automaker’s new “KODO” design language, which gives the Minagi an athletic look.

The 2012 Mazda3 made its U.S. debut last week at the New York Auto Show. The new compact will be the first to utilize Mazda’s new SKYACTIV engine and transmission technology, which is aimed at improving fuel efficiency while maintaining strong performance.

Mazda sales have been strong all year, and March’s numbers don’t disappoint. The automaker reported a 33.3 percent increase in U.S. sales versus March of 2010, with 30,905 units sold.
